BOY SCOUT INDUCTION CEREMONY

(Parents are at the front; Den Chiefs are in column formation at rear of hall with candidates, B.S.A. neckerchiefs are prepared for wearing.)

Leader: Den Chiefs, Please Bring the Candidate(s) forward.

Leader: (Names of Scouts), You have indicated to your Cubmaster that you wish to continue along the scouting trail as a member of Troop 105 is this true?

Candidates: (Respond) Yes.

Leader: Very Well. (Names of Scouts), The Law of the troop is the Scout Law. Make the scout sign and repeat after us. (Scoutmaster, Den Chiefs and Candidates recite the Scout Law). A Scout is………….

Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent

Leader: Do you promise to live by the Scout Law?

Candidates: (Respond) Yes.

Leader: Members of this troop also live by the code of the Scout Oath. Make the Boy Scout Sign and repeat after us. (Scoutmaster, Den Chiefs and Candidates recite the Scout Oath). On my honor, I will do my best, To do my duty to god and my country, To obey the scout law, To help other people at all times, To keep myself physically strong, Mentally awake, and morally straight.

Leader: Do you promise to live by the Scout Oath?

Candidates: (Respond) Yes.

Leader: As a reminder to your promise we are presenting you with a Boy Scout neckerchief to wear with your scout uniform. When you have kept your promise and have earned the rank of a Tenderfoot Scout, you will then be presented with Troop 105’s special troop neckerchief. (place neckerchiefs on candidates).

Leader: As Scoutmaster of Troop 105, I welcome you to the troop (Scoutmaster and Den Chiefs Salute the candidates and shakes their hands with the parents).

Leader: (Turn New Scouts around to face the audience). Parents and Cub Scouts, Lets Congratulate (Names of Scouts) on becoming the newest members of Troop 105.
